Embossed / Patterned colored stainless steel

Pressed colored stainless steel is a kind of decorative stainless steel sheet processed by combining the physical pressing and surface coloring techniques. It integrates the metallic texture of stainless steel, the three-dimensional texture of pressing patterns and the visual effect of colors, and is widely used in architectural decoration, commercial spaces, elevator decoration and art customization, etc.

Product Details

Production Principle

Die-cutting (embossing) process: Using large-scale CNC machinery and precise pattern molds, through physical extrusion, the surface of stainless steel plates (mostly stainless steel coil sheets) is made to have concave and convex textures (such as water ripple patterns, grid patterns, wood grain patterns, panda patterns, etc.). The plates after die-cutting have a distinct three-dimensional relief effect, and the front side has a tactile feel, while the back side is basically flat or has the texture of the front side.

Coloring (coloring) process: After the die-cutting process is completed, the surface of the plates is treated with coloring. Common coloring methods include vacuum titanium plating (such as rose gold, black titanium, champagne gold, etc.), electrolytic coloring (such as black, purple, green, etc.) and retro aging (such as brass, purple copper, etc.). Coloring not only gives stainless steel rich colors but also enhances the wear resistance and corrosion resistance of the plates.

Core Advantages

The decorative effect is excellent, with rich visual and tactile sensations.

The three-dimensional effect is strong: through the mechanical embossing process, uneven deep and shallow textures (such as wood grain, stone texture, grid pattern, ice bamboo pattern, etc.) are formed on the stainless steel surface, presenting a distinct relief three-dimensional effect, breaking the coldness of metal and achieving excellent light refraction effect.

The colors are rich: by combining PVD vacuum coating, water coating, and baking paint surface treatment processes, various colors such as rose gold, champagne gold, black titanium, and green bronze can be achieved. The colors are saturated and long-lasting, meeting the personalized decoration needs of different scenarios.

Excellent durability, long lifespan

Durable and scratch-resistant: The embossing process enhances the surface hardness (some products can reach a Mohs hardness of over 5.5), with strong pressure and scratch resistance, able to maintain the appearance intact for a long time, with a lifespan of up to 20 years or more.

Corrosion-resistant and corrosion-resistant: The stainless steel substrate (such as 304/316) itself has excellent corrosion resistance. The dense film layer formed on the surface can resist salt fog corrosion and ultraviolet radiation, and is not prone to fading, suitable for outdoor and high-humidity environments.

Good fire resistance: As an A-level non-combustible material, it has excellent fire resistance, not burning when exposed to fire and without toxic smoke, meeting the safety requirements of commercial spaces and building curtain walls.

Strong functionality, wide application scenarios

Anti-slip and anti-stick: The surface has distinct uneven textures, providing good anti-slip effect, suitable for public spaces such as elevator carriages, subway carriages, and stair treads that require anti-slip properties; at the same time, it has good anti-stick properties, suitable for scenarios prone to adhesion such as refrigerators and cold storage.

Easy to clean and maintenance-free: The surface is dense and smooth, with strong anti-stain ability, and oil stains and fingerprints can be wiped clean with one wipe, with extremely low daily maintenance costs.

Superior physical properties, high processing adaptability

High strength: The stainless steel substrate has high mechanical strength and strong wind resistance and impact resistance, and is unlikely to develop dents due to hail or falling objects.

Easy to process: The main body and coloring layer are integrated, retaining the excellent forming processing performance of stainless steel, capable of undergoing conventional molding and stretching processing, suitable for various complex-shaped customization requirements.

Environmentally friendly and cost-effective

Environmentally friendly and recyclable: The stainless steel material can be 100% recycled and utilized, in line with green building and environmental standards.

Low life cycle cost: Although the initial material cost may be slightly higher, due to its long lifespan, no maintenance (no need for regular application of anti-rust paint) and extremely low maintenance costs, the cost advantage of the entire life cycle is obvious.

Available Colors & Finishes

Optional colors (classified by coloring process)

The coloring process of the embossed stainless steel determines the final color it presents. The common coloring processes and their corresponding colors are as follows:

PVD vacuum deposition (physical vapor deposition): High color fidelity, wear-resistant and corrosion-resistant. Common colors include: champagne gold, rose gold, black titanium (black gold), gemstone blue, titanium gold, coffee color, brown color, purple red, greenish bronze, red bronze, titanium white, emerald green, etc. Some can achieve iridescent effect (colors change with viewing angle).

Electroplating (electroplating): Rich and thick colors. Common colors include: dark black, red bronze, greenish bronze, dark gold, etc. Suitable for retro aging effect.

Electrolytic coloring: Common colors include: black, purple, peacock green, emerald green, rose red, etc. Customized colors are available.

Transfer coating (including baking paint/fluorocarbon): Pure colors, strong coverage, can precisely match any pure color on the RAL color card (such as Chinese red, white, cement gray, space gray, etc.), or achieve imitation textures such as wood grain, marble grain, etc.

Aging process: Through manual grinding or chemical etching on the colored surface, a mottled retro effect is presented. Common colors include: brass, copper, bronze, aged red bronze, aged green bronze, etc.

Panel surface processing (pressing texture classification)

The pressing process extrudes concave and convex textures on the stainless steel surface through mechanical molds. The common texture types are as follows:

Geometric and regular textures: small square patterns, rhombic square patterns, diagonal patterns, cubes, small diamonds, large ellipses, mosaics, etc., presenting a regular geometric aesthetic.

Natural and biomimetic textures: water ripple patterns (shimmering effect), wood patterns (such as tree patterns, woven bamboo patterns), stone patterns, ice bamboo patterns, chrysanthemum patterns, butterfly love patterns, panda patterns, egg patterns, etc., presenting natural biomimetic effects.

Abstract and decorative textures: antique square patterns, free patterns, colorful patterns, colorful circles, lotus flowers, auspicious clouds, etc., suitable for artistic and decorative needs.

Texture and tactile texture: linen patterns, sandblasted boards, pearlized patterns (rice grain boards), etc., presenting different surface textures and tactile sensations.

Application Scenarios

Building curtain wall and exterior wall: Applied to the building facade and metal curtain wall, it uses embossing and color effects to reduce light pollution while preserving the metallic luster, enhancing the appearance of the building.

Interior decoration: Suitable for commercial spaces such as hotel lobbies, KTVs, shopping malls, stations, and airports. It can be used as background walls, artistic columns, wall panels or ceilings, creating a unique atmosphere through the refraction of light and shadow.

Home decoration: Suitable for kitchen countertops, cabinet doors, interior wall panels, etc. The embossed patterns (such as wood grain, stone texture) can enhance the texture and are moisture-proof and stain-resistant.

Elevators and Rail Transit: Suitable for the inner walls and door panels of elevator carriages, subway carriages, light rail carriages, and various containers, taking into account both aesthetics and scratch resistance requirements.

Public facilities: Used for door frames, signs, counter tops, ceilings, etc., to meet the dual requirements of aesthetics and durability for public spaces.

Mechanics and Equipment: Applied to food machinery, pharmaceutical machinery, electronic scales, refrigerators and cold storage units, packaging and printing machinery, conveyor tracks/belts, etc. By leveraging its anti-scuffing, anti-compression, and friction-reducing properties, it prevents material adhesion and extends the lifespan of the equipment.

Industrial decoration: Applied to the walls or floor of industrial buildings and workshops, it meets the requirements of industrial environments for corrosion resistance and wear resistance.
